In addition to our 8-week course, we also have a weekly drop-in meditation group. The group meets on Saturdays from 11:30 to 12:30, at the Broadmoor Arts and Wellness Center. It is facilitated by NOLA mindfulness instructor Dan Lawton.
There is a 30-minute guided meditation, followed by discussion. The drop-in class is suitable for beginners and also acts as a support for those who have completed the 8-week MBSR course. It is an approach to mindfulness primarily influenced by the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn and the MBSR curriculum, though Buddhist teachings are also utilized.
There is a $10 suggestion donation. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
