Welcome to NOLA Mindfulness
We offer mindfulness meditation classes in New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Science has demonstrated that these practices reduce stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and symptoms of many illnesses.
Our main offering is an 8-week course in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR). In this course, participants use meditation and yoga to reduce stress and promote well-being. MBSR was developed in the 1970s by Jon-Kabat Zinn, a molecular biologist and meditation practitioner. It is taught worldwide and has been the subject of numerous peer-reviewed studies demonstrating its efficacy.
MBSR is appropriate for anyone, regardless of physical condition, and no experience with meditation or yoga is necessary. You can learn more about the curriculum in our MBSR FAQ or read testimonials from past participants.
We also offer a drop-in mindfulness meditation group for MBSR alumni and the general public, as well as mindfulness workshops at schools, businesses, medical settings and other groups. For more information about any offerings, contact Dan@nolamindfulness.com.
New MBSR courses begin in January
We are offering two new MBSR courses beginning in early January 2018. One course will be taught in New Orleans on Wednesday nights, and another will be taught in Covington on Thursdays.
